THANK YOU from Heartfelt Homes.

As we enter a new financial year, I wanted to take the time personally to thank all of our donors and sponsors whose vital support has allowed Heartfelt Homes to provide an essential service to families in need throughout 2015-2016.

This time last year, we had just received over $10,000 raised from the Ride for Rooms event. Andy, feeling fitter and stronger than ever after his treatment, and six of his friends, cycled from Lennox Head to Sydney over a period of eight days. The support of their friends, loved ones and colleagues meant that the much-needed funds raised was enough to take Heartfelt Homes to the next level and keep the family-focussed service going into the new financial year.

The ride was such a success both financially and personally for the guys that we are working on more events of a similar nature this year. There’ll be lots of opportunities to get involved in all sorts of capacity, so stay tuned for further details.

In August of last year, our first corporate partner came on board and generously sponsored a permanent room at the Wesley Lodge in Sydney. This room is 300m from Westmead Hospital and Westmead Children’s Hospital, and it provides families of patients from all over Australia with a safe and convenient place to stay when their loved ones are receiving medical treatment.  With their ongoing support, Brydens Lawyers became the single biggest supporters of Heartfelt Homes last financial year, and we couldn’t be more thankful.

Brydens are committed to giving back to the communities they work in, and their kindness and generosity are truly humbling.  With thanks to this incredible support, Brydens room has kept over 60 families together at a time they needed each other the most.

Our service does not discriminate against age, illness or patient situation and this room has housed the families of those whose loved ones were suffering from critical injury, critical illness, burns injuries, premature babies, complicated pregnancies, scheduled surgeries and lifesaving treatments including chemotherapy and radiotherapy to name a few.

Every day, rural and regional patients cancel their planned treatment in Australia due to lack of affordable accommodation for family members. Logistically, paying city prices for accommodation while your family member receives treatment which they are entitled to, becomes an impossibility for some.  Your support has directly helped to save the lives of those patients.

Providing practical support which allows families to be together in times of medical crisis is what makes it all worthwhile and without the support of our corporate sponsors, Brydens Lawyers, we wouldn’t be able to do that. THANK YOU.

“The Principal and many of Bryden’s Lawyers staff have personally endured the unfortunate experience of having to attend upon loved ones in hospital and therefore could not have been happier to assist Heartfelt Homes in providing accommodation and other help to people in need. Brydens Lawyers is incredibly proud of its association with Heartfelt Homes and the work that it performsLee Hagipantelis, Principal, Bryden’s Lawyers.

Throughout the last financial year, Heartfelt Homes has provided crisis care accommodation to 100 families in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and even as far as Perth. Individuals, corporate donors and Trusts and Foundations across Australia have come forward in droves as people they know have found themselves in situations where they have witnessed first-hand how crucial an addition Heartfelt Homes is to the Australian healthcare system.

To mention all of our supporters by name in this small space would be impossible, but on behalf of the families that we can keep together during times of medical crisis, we are unable to put our gratitude into words.

Heartfelt Homes has many exciting plans for next financial year which will see us expand permanently into Brisbane in the very near future, and then slowly but surely across the rest of the states and territories. Sustainability is top of our list of priorities, and we are currently working with key stakeholders to ensure that our model is effective allowing us to replicate our success in NSW while scaling up across the rest of the country.

If you would like to get involved either by making an individual donation, joining our regular giving program or by becoming an ongoing corporate sponsor, just like Bryden’s, please contact [email protected] or Donate Now.

On behalf of our families; Heartfelt Thanks to everyone for your invaluable support this year, together we are truly making a difference to families across Australia.
