My heart is in this business…..

This year I set myself the challenge of creating a social venture, a profit business for good, within Heartfelt Homes. I have learnt that, although essential, a charity cannot rely solely on kind donations if it wants to grow.
At the end of last year I was completely burnt out with the huge amount of energy it takes to continually raise funds and provide Heartfelt Homes service and I became so worried that this essential service may not survive.
After 18 months of long hours, hard work and many lessons learnt, it is crunch time for Heartfelt Homes.
I have never taken a salary from Heartfelt Homes, I give all my time and resources for free but as a ‘no income’ family were out of time.
So I’ve had my thinking cap on and I’m really excited to say I have created a new service that could bring much needed revenue to Heartfelt and pay me a small salary. (yay)
I’ve had some really exciting meetings already and have a couple booked in this week in SE Queensland, then I’m off presenting my ideas to businesses in Sydney for 4 days, all to secure funding for this venture.
I will let you know more about this in the coming weeks.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all Heartfelt Homes donors, sponsors, partners and friends. Without your continuing support Heartfelt Homes would not exist, I am so incredibly grateful to you all. Please forgive me if I have not managed to thank you personally yet, I have many new skills and lessons to learn in this beautiful new world I’ve found myself in, you will hear more from me throughout 2015.
My heart is in this business and this business is truly in my heart.
